Privacy Policy

Phantom Focus does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data.

The app operates completely offline: no external servers, no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising networks, no third-party SDKs. The app does not connect to the network at all. The only exceptions are things you choose to do yourself, like emailing us — see sections 6 and 7.

Phantom Focus uses Apple’s Screen Time framework (Family Controls) strictly for its core functionality: blocking the apps you select and managing your usage budget.

• On-device processing. Everything happens on your device.
• Opaque tokens.Apple’s architecture ensures Phantom Focus cannot read or identify the specific apps, websites, or categories you select — they are stored as opaque tokens only iOS can decode.
• No access to history. Phantom Focus cannot see your browsing history, message content, or actual in-app activity.

All preferences — your daily budget, streak, breach history, guarded targets, schedules, focus timer sessions and statistics, and app groups — are stored locally on your device inside the secure iOS App Sandbox / App Group.

Deleting the application immediately and permanently removes all of it. There are no remote accounts or cloud backups to delete.

The reminders Phantom Focus shows — for example the notification that opens the challenge from the block screen, or the one that says a focus session is complete — are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push service or server is involved. You can turn them off in iOS Settings → Notifications.

Downloads and updates go through the App Store under Apple’s privacy policy. If you have chosen to share analytics with app developers in iOS settings, Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymized usage and crash statistics. We never receive anything that identifies you.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write. We use it only to reply, don’t share it, and delete the conversation on request.

This website is hosted on Vercel and uses Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly page-view counter that doesn’t use cookies and doesn’t identify you. The Phone Addiction Test runs entirely in your browser — your answers and score are never sent anywhere or stored.

The app collects no personal data from anyone, including children under 13. We don’t knowingly receive information from children; if a child emails us, we will delete the message on request from them or a parent.

You are always in control. You can grant or revoke Phantom Focus’s access to Screen Time (Family Controls) at any time, directly in your device settings: iOS Settings → Screen Time.

If this policy changes in a future version, the date at the top will be updated. Since we hold no contact details, changes are reflected directly on this page.
